Stumpy Creek Disc Golf Course is a hidden gem in the surrounding area of Charlotte. Stumpy Creek is Charlotte’s mountain course and it was installed and periodically maintained by the Charlotte Disc Golf Club.

Playing here will make the most in shape feel like they should be doing some extra cardio. The course open and ends with some OB bordered long open throws. The middle of your round is up and down through your classic piedmont woods.

Generally tight but fair fairways lead you up, down and around a number of ravines. You’ll empty your bag a few times on this course gunning aces and watching your disc fly on some of the open holes.

Playing the safe shot often yields a better score and an easily found disc. Just 25 miles north of Charlotte’s city center, you’ll feel like you made it to Asheville. Holes vary in length from 700′ par 5’s to 200′ throws to raised baskets.

There are 30 teepads (multiples on 15 holes) so you will be able to find the layout that is most fun and challenging for you.

A practice basket and ample putting space on an island green is a great warm up to start your round. Unfortunately on busy weekend soccer days the last hole or 2 can get crowded with parked cars so be sure to be safe and careful.

Go have fun and play this beast.

Very tight course and tons of elevation. Don't get too greedy and you should have a fair round. Definitely not cart friendly

Fun course. Unique shots. Beautiful middle section.

Course could use some tea signs. I would rate it higher if it had more information on HT. The course feels like it's not loved. Which is a shame, because it could be a fun track. A lot of repetition across a ravine up the ravine down the ravine repeat.

Incredible course, mountain course vibes, almost zero signage, and super long walk back to the car
